FORT RILEY, Kan. - The family of a Western New York soldier killed this week at an Army base in Kansas now tells 2 On Your Side that he was fatally stabbed in his barracks room.

Two people were killed and four Kansas State University students were injured in a two-vehicle wreck early Monday in Riley County. Two occupants were pronounced dead at the scene, said Benjamin Gardner, technical trooper with the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Army Pvt. Thomas Lavrey was fatally stabbed Sunday in his Fort Riley, Kan., living quarters, family members confirmed Friday. Lavrey, 21, a native of West Seneca, was stationed at the Kansas base with the 1st Infantry Division.
